Hello,
The truck has 235 75 R15's.
The rims are original. Got a pin hole in one. Now won't hold air.
I am without a spare. All the rubber(all 5) is somewhat played out.
This is a work truck. She is a good truck, Painted the frame many moons ago
and keep her out of the salt. Though, time is catching up with her.
I am thinking about swapping out the 4.2L for a motor out of a Subrnnn.(V8)
I do plan to keep the truck around for a while. I don't know how far into a resto... project
I am interested in going due to the many other things/projects going on but, it would
be nice to have a little more power.(Instead the 4.3L lack of power).
Anyway, Rims are 5 lug 15" I think they are 7" wide? I am always on a tight
budget. So I do alot of shopping the the Auto recycle. My thoughts were to see
about getting larger(larger meaning 16" 17" diameter etc.) rims off of perhaps a
later model truck from the junkyard. So the reason for larger diameter rims
would be so I can possibly have more of a selection for tires at the junkyard.
Being that 15" rims is less common on the newer vehicles.

Thanks! let me know if I need to clarify anything, TruKaGe

One other thing. The spare tire carrier. A larger Diameter rim,
will require a different tire carrier that the exist one for 15"?
I am guessing? your thoughts/expr.
Thanks!

Do you want different wheels?

Rally rims are readily availible on Facebook marketplace place in various conditions and prices. You could replace them individually if that suits your wall better.

If you want larger diameter you could seek out many of the “jeep” wheels as lots of them are 5x5 pattern like the half ton squarebody and some look pretty decent on the truck.

I only want larger diameter wheels if it will present more
options in the junkyard. There is less pickin's for tires for 15" rims these days.
These jeep 5x5 rims. They would be hub centric ?
It would be cool if I could go to a junkyard and grab some jeep rims.
Are there specific years I would be looking at?

And then there is the issue with carrying a larger diameter rim
and tire as a spare underneath. I haven't looked at how much
room was down there. Does anyone know, with existing
spare tire carrier (15"rim) how much additional room is there.
how much bigger can one go, if at all.
