Hello,

I recently got an '82 K15 Sierra with a 6.2 diesel. It was imported here to Finland already back in 1990. She runs fine and is working quite well, but of course needs some work here and there.

I've been cleaning the engine bay from the works of previous owners and their wiring... when doing this I've come up with a few connectors in the engine wiring harness that aren't connected to anywhere, and there doesn't seem to be anything they're supposed to be plugged in the near vicinity.

Could someone please help me to identify these connectors, if they are something I would definitely want to sort out? As said, the engine runs normally (this is my first 6.2d so I don't have previous experience) even without them connected.

Thank you so much for the help!

Best regards,

J-P

This component? Located in the back of the cylinder block between the heads. There is supposed to be an electrical connector attached to this.

The connectors on the firewall are for the AC compressor.

Thank you! Makes sense as the car has A/C, but the compressor has been removed at some point.

Does someone know about the "third connector" and the component in the last picture?

I was able to identify the last component being the oil pump driveshaft. And apparently it has a speed sensor output for the transmission. I assume that at least the shaft (or maybe the whole engine) has been swapped at some point, as the TH350 doesn't use this signal as far as I know.

Now it's only the connector underneath the air filter cover. I think I'll remove the cover to get a better look there it is coming from.
