220k miles on original motor before radiator hose failed causing blown head gasket. Running with a replacement motor/trans. Sold to a coworker a while back. Still running around. Great overall for a daily with manual trans. Picture back when paint was good.

I agree, they were pretty good cars so long as you didn't run the piss out of them. Most of the ones I remember working on, of course, had owners that ran the piss out of them. I think when the tuner car craze started, most of them met their maker soon after.

That's pretty funny there is no pavement in that picture.
Is it just me? Lol?

I have a good buddy that had one of those deals after school. He worked AT O'REILLY'S and it was a damn good thing.

Every once in a while it would get out of the parking lot without me pushin it.

He spent all his money on parts and I spent all my time puttin it back together and THEN THE FUSE BOX CAUGHT FIRE.

I got nothin good to say about a Stealth unless it's a 117.

Sounds like a special case. Mine just kept running with no major issues until that radiator hose failed

Lol. I think its no different than an LS Swap. Obviously less popular because who in their right mind would do that much work for a v6 engine but HP tuners offers (or at least did in the past) good support for 3800 tuning. After that I would imagine a matching set of DBW pedals and some engine mounting solution will have you set up.

I hope to not have to commute as much in the near future but if it keeps up I will certainly be revisiting my 64-67 A body with 4 wheel discs, fuel injection and good economy project.

thought about the 6 banger swap into a older car for mpg dd only I was thinking the 4.2 I6 from the trailblazer 275hp was rated at 21 mpg in those pigs of a suv, maybe even a turbo if the I6 becomes not enough.

I notice when I go to the yards, none of the Trailblazers have engines in them for some reason.

Here's my 5.3 Trailblazer though, it was cool. Only got about 14 mpg though

The SSs get 10 and 12 depending on the gear ratio. 3.73 of 4.10. I still want one though.

Stock I had 3.73's, I went up to 4.56's when I lifted it and put the 33's on, mileage didn't really change either way.

You could select 4wd though right? The SSs were AWD

Yes I had 2 hi, 4 hi, and 4 low. SOme SS's were AWD, some were 2wd. I have a friend with one identical to mine he swapped a 4L80E and NP241 into, and it has a pretty healthy 6.0.

Sweet. I think I read the 2wd ones weren’t so common and I’m sure they were fire fryers.

THe number 1 worst thing about them is the upper balljoint goes over the tire, so oversized tires are tricky. The second crappy thing is that the bolt pattern is weird, and is only shared amongst the SUV's. So only other Trailblazer, Envoy, 9x, Bravada wheels fit, nothing from any of the trucks or full sized SUV's

Don’t forget the Accender or however Isuzu spelled it.

I have an Chevy w3500 (Isuzu NPR) that has a 5.2 liter- 4 cylinder diesel. I think that would fit pretty well in an old pickup. You wouldn’t make 1000 horsepower but I bet the mileage would be pretty good.
