Add some oil to that cylinder then redo the compression test and see if the compression comes up.
If it does then it will be the rings, if not then suspect a valve job is in order.
Thought about doing that but I really have no desire to tear into the motor to do either rings or valves. I'd just replace the motor and get that dog of a 305 out of there if I decide to do anything at all.
