Oh, you do H bodies too. I was going to do a Monza at one time. Realized it was to small for my big ass and to low to the ground for my back problems. I so wanted it to work too. I wanted a 10 second street/strip car and as light as those are, it's fairly easily done if you set the suspension up right and keeping the torque bar, otherwise the rear half of the car will seperate from the front half. :laughing1:

Not all states are that screwed up. In OK, your property tax on a vehicle is at the time you buy your annual tag for the vehicle. So if the vehicle isn't road worthy or on the road, then no property tax is paid. When and if you ever do register the vehicle, you pay for that last year it wasn't registered, and the current year only. So if it sat for 5 years, then you'll pay 1 year for the last year it wasn't registered, then the year to make it current and that's it, so you're actually only paying tax on one of the 5 years it sat. Same as if it had sat for 20 years. You'd pay for 1 year, then the current year by signing a non operational affidavit. OK is fair about a few things.

BTW, my annual tags on my squares, which includes the property tax and personal property tax is $23.50 per year per vehicle. My Box Van is old enough now too, it's only $23.50 a year. Less than $2 a month per vehicle. And we don't do, jerk off inspections and we don't do emmisions either. But they'll damn sure give you a ticket if your window tint is over 20%, but I run 15%. When I get pulled over for it, whip out the process server license and that I do surveilance, then I don't even get a warning. Over half the cop cars around here are using 10-15% or 100% illegal reflective.

ya plates on most of mine are under 100 bucks a year

all mine under probably 1980 are anywhere from 30 bucks to 80 bucks a year
my 71 is around 30 so are my 60's trucks

my 90 jimmy is around 80

my 1 ton wrecker is around 100

old cars and trucks are kinda cheap to plate but new stuff is crazy high priced to plate

and i do not have to plate them if i am not using them that year

and wyoming has no emmisions and very few regulations. and not many are enforced unless you piss them off or you are driving somthing that really should not be driven on a road.

In OK, the excise tax when you buy a new vehicle kills you, but the most expensive tag is $93.50 a year. Then according to age it drops down to $63.50 after like 5 years old, then after 10 years, it's $43.50 and after 20 years it's $23.50. Fairly reasonable IMO. My figures are not 100% accurate, IIRC there was a small increase straight across the board not long ago, so it might be $94.50, $64.50, $44.50 and $24.50 now. In OK, a normal person can actually afford to support a few vehicles in a year without breaking the bank.

Vegas make for some wicked nasty rides. Way back in my street racing days, one of the buddies had a 2 door Vega with a Ford 9in, narrowed and tubbed. The car had small block 400 in it, ran like a raped ape. On the rear quarters he had that game painted, where the net falls down the pole of the Mouse Trap game, and under it, in fancy letters, "Mouse Trap" That was the cars name. He didn't have to stall out a motor at a real high rpm and could pull the front wheels leaving a red light using Weld Wheels with pizza cutters on the front. Very Wicked car !!! :waytogo:

Sure hate to do this, and don't leave us, but here is a place I belonged to long ago when I was interested in building my Monza that I scored for $100. You can likley find some good info or at least share some good info here.
