There is a tab on the column that moves when you move the shifter. I don't have a pic.Not sure how this tie is supposed to be hooked up . Without the tie hooked up the orange selector won’t move thanks
Short? I doubt it. An open, yes. I'll bet you're losing power to the distributor. Check your connections on the starter solenoid and dizzy. Inside the dizzy, check your connection to the pickup coil.Ok guys I replaced the ignition starter switch .. so I went for my first test drive went down the highway then it died again as I’m slowing down at the stop light... so it’s gotta be a short from the starter to the battery possibly ? Luckily I managed to crank it back up
I fixed the shifter bro.... But it still died on me after 10 min after couple stop lights , luckily was able to get it going again... I wonder how difficult of a job to rip out the wires off the starter and get new ones but for the life of me i cant see where they travel to.There is a tab on the column that moves when you move the shifter. Have you tested the ignition coil. A coil will get hot and fail, then cool and start working again.next time it dies you need to immediately check for 12v at the distributor. If it dies and you have 12v there.we need to test the distributor components.
I’m able to start it up after it diesSorry didn't read close enough, you have tbi with a divorced coil you to check for spark and, 12v to the pink wire A.S.A.P after it dies. If it were mine this exactly how I would do it as soon as it died I spray carb cleaner down the tbi. And try to start it no start? We know it's probably not a fuel problem. I'd check for spark to the coil wire,no spark see if the coil has power coil has power,we've isolated the problem to the distributor or coil. No power to the coil we have a bad wire or switch. If you do the above we will be real close to knowing what's wrong.
