I assume the green was the original color- that will look nice once you get there- if indeed that is the plan.

Other than it looks like you stole 1 of my doors, nice truck!
I dig that color green. Had a ‘75 winter beater 3/4 ton same color. About 10x as rusted out as yours and about 16 years before you were born! Lol

I’m in Black Diamond and since your tailgate is junk, I have GMC one for you, not rusted out at all. Just a big dent in the top edge but it works and the handle isn’t even too bent.
Normally I’d charge a handle of whiskey for it, but that probably wouldn’t go over well with your parents so you can have it for free as long as you promise to fix up that truck!
