Update: VIN swap is actually not going to be difficult. CHP does a light/brake inspection and will assign a new VIN according to the year of the frame (says my CHP friend). Everything currently works, so that shouldn't be a problem with new cab.

Now, for the wipers, will I just need to replace the '85 posts with my originals to fit under the '73 hood? Also, I know the '85 glass is thinner. Will it still work in my '73 doors? I like the old doors better than the new, so I'm curious.

Different truck, but I hate power windows so I swapped to 78 burban doors, my 88 burban windows were tinted, so I swapped em. New seals should take up any wiggle, mine Seemed to fit fine. Don't know if that helps at all, but thought I would tell you.

Remember to match the window frame gaskets to the thickness of the glass.
