I don't think id what the bb mounts because of header clearance?? any idea what the part number is for the bbThe mounting pads on the block are further back on the big block. The big block will sit higher and toward the front more.
Actually the mounting surfaces on a big block are in the exact same spot as a small block proportionally to the trans mounting surface. As in if a small block bolts in so will a big block. It's whether it fits with the added height, width and longer block after the mount surface forward but mount to trans is the same and so is pad heights and width. I have small block solids on my big block in an 87 v10 and no changes to the frame mounts direct bolt in.The mounting pads on the block are further back on the big block. The big block will sit higher and toward the front more.
Yup quite a bit of over hang I did have to notch my cross member to clear the oil pan. Which means no pulling the pan off without jacking the engine up. Was kinda pissed about that....oh well it is what it is.Yes direct bolt in. I was referring to the front of block but you're right, same spot in relation to trans.
Chevy had some thinkers back then didn't they? lol I'm sure it was just cheaper lolI've had these 3 engines. Black one is the weak 5.7 tbi. The one on the ground is a 450hp 355 that I built. The big block is a 632 blueprint pro series crate engine. I've used the same mounts on all except for changing them to polyurethane.
