Hey guys I'm new here and enjoying reading the forums. Here's what I have, 1990 Chevy suburban 1500 4x4, tbi 350 and 700r4 auto trans. The ball joint and wheel bearings were wore out, so I bought the shop manual for torque specs and new ball joints and wheel bearings. Now I followed the book step by step and put it all back together as it was, I hope, lol, everything torqued to spec. I test drove it this morning and when it goes over a bump there is a definite metal clank sound followed by a rubbing sound then it stops. When driving on flat road there's no noise. I'm stumped on this one any ideas would be appreciated.

I had a weird rattle on mine that seemed to always happen on a bump or pothole, looked for it forever and finally found out it was my outside brake pad wasn't totally snug, tabs were bent and caliper bolts weren't holding it very tight. No more rattle! May not be your issue but worth a quick check.

I think we have the same issue. Mine just started it but it sounds like tire rub when ever going at an incline at an angle. Ie turning left and drivers front hits the angled driveway first then the pass side. its very short an quick noise. I am thinking it my fan shroud as the frame flexes some.
