Mar-K Truck Toolbox for Stepside

Does anyone have the Mar-K stepside tool chest? They are expensive but I can’t find a single picture of one in the truck. Other then being USA made and having the neat Chevy/gm logo I wanted to know if you liked it. It says the mounting should line up with bed strips in the wood bed. Seems like a slam dunk, I was also looking at weatherguard chests since they can flush mount at the very front of the bed and the jobox aluminum truck chest. Thanks for any input!

I've got a Tractor Supply box in my fleetside and am very happy with it. Sits just below the bedrails, I drilled holes and used a piece of wood and the long bed bolts to bolt it down. The lid wasn't all the way closed here.

I just want to haul a few tools and misc items while I'm traveling/ car shows. I've considered the Mar-K one for my C10 fleetside and also just using an old metal Coleman cooler and painting it to match the truck and mounting it for storage. I've come across a few old coolers but they all have plastic on the bottoms and I could swear I've seen some that were all metal.

I have one like this for my C30 but it is big enough to climb inside and takes a lot of space. I'd like to mount a smaller version that is on risers so I can slide a sheet of wood under but yet still sit below rails

I have a Reading saddle box. Any longer wood or stock can slide under it.

I like it too....but a good fabricator could build a box with a truck tailgate for that $$$. I'm not a good fabricator but neither am I rich LoL.

I can't say much about the Mar-K box other than it looks very nice and appropriate for an old truck.

The Weatherguard boxes are very very nice usually and the Crescent boxes are pretty good too.

If I had the budget, I'd want to try out the Mar-K box. Unless it's just a work rig, then I'd chose a basic TSC box like @TotalyHucked has because they are very nice for the money.

Yeah, I think I paid ~$180 pre-Covid for this one. Since I still use the truck as a truck and have a tonneau on most of the time, I works great. And give much needed extra storage for a single cab

I realize that the way I worded it might have suggested that I think your truck is a beater work truck.

What I meant was that if I had a nice old truck, needed the storage space for luggage and car show cleaning supplies, and had the budget for the Mar-K box, I'd try it.

But if I was using the truck for much more than car shows or cruising, I'd go with the TSC box.
