You know how the first time you fire up an engine with brand new painted headers, the black paint turns a dull gray color as soon as they get up to temp? That's exactly what it looked like under the clay. Come to think of it, I think there's pictures of it somewhere in the thread about my pickup.

It's my understanding that "paint" is only there to keep it from rusting prior to sale/installation. I don't believe it is reasonable to expect much else from it!

If the header looked "cool" when buyer pulled it out of the box, that's win.

I hear POR15 High Temp paint supposed to work pretty good if baked on properly, but never tried it yet so I don't know??.

Not "loud" but you can hear it. I think growly is a good word for it.
I have 2.25" Dynomax Super Turbo on me C20.

I baked some on my bare heads then blasted half of it off with the car wash power washer lol.

I tried that a long time ago, thought that would be the cool thing, that lasted about 3 days that was enough of that ****, lmao..
