I love to build my own tools. Built several over the years. I wanted a nice BIG bench vice that I could really hammer on, and I didn't want to spend $1000+ dollars, so I built my own. Expensive part was the 1" threaded rod and coupling nut. Got scrap metal for it from stuff I had lying around and from a welding shop. It's a little slow to operate with standard course threaded rod, so I left a nut on the end so I could zip it in and out with my impact. I use a 1 1/2" wrench when I really want to clamp down

I have a holley with pretty bad corrosion(galvanic, aluminum parts, i think) and the carb is a double pumper, older one, and looks nice on the top/outside, but the baseplate wouldnt be a flatmachined surface and the butterflys are pretty bad(I dont think thats realistic to repair?) so the idea of a carb stand is pretty cool.. and I could display it maybe.. polish up the pretty parts?

If its not realistically repairable or of any definite use value then I think it would look pretty nice cleaned up at least and a conversation piece?

It it's not salvageable it'll make fine garage art!

True I like the Holley logo, vintage design and then of course it could and will polish nicely and double pumpers nice and the darker aluminum look vs the color qjets take on and vs the chromy of edelbrocks it feels subdued too

Let's revisit this thread... started the day with cutting the legs off my newer welding table. Welded them back on to the outside corners. Started drilling 5/8 holes on the top. Bought some 5/8 shoulder bolts, cut the threads off, and welded adjustable clamps to the top of the shoulder bolt.

Got the table top drilled out today. 4 inches apart. I still need to make my other clamps, and put the shelf under the top.

Foodservice shelves, good choice. I see those at work, and we can put heavy stuff on them. Also the ones over the sinks allow things to drip dry.

I'm calling this a tool I made.... Squarebody cab cart.... used old pieces of a frame I had, so I could bolt the cab to the cart...

Made a foot operated shrinker/shretcher stand. I used some stuff I had in the shop. Some four link bars, and ends. I made the top plate spin so I can use which ever one I need. Takes up less space. Not quite fi ished with it, but that's the basics of it.

Started upgrading the tire changer from HF. Haven't tried it out yet. Still need to clean up the welds, and paint.

Amazon it was like 20 bucks. It was the only metal one I could find under 50 bucks. Had good reviews. I wasn't sure about the plastic duck head, or duck beak something like that. A lot of the reviews on the plastic ones said they broke after a few uses.
