LT1 Swap Vendorss?

Hello,
I'm hoping someone can help me with locating a vendor/person to purchase parts for my LT1 swap into my '92 G20 van. I swore I saw a guy on the net that you could send your ECM & harnesses to for reprogramming & repinning to do a swap. I have a '96 Roadmaster w/ LT1, 4l60e I want to swap into my '92 G20 w/350 TBI & 4l60. Any info would be greatly appreciated! TIA...Bob

I'm going to follow your.build probably going to have questions for you. How do you plan on pulling the engine out of the Van? I've only done 1 G series 40-45 years ago and I did it what I believe was the hard way, out the front. Anyways here's a link for you hope it helps. I think an Lt swap is a great idea.

There’s a fella on the interwebs known as Lextech who can reflash the “0411” GM PCM to run a 96-99 Vortec replacing the Black box pcm’s that came in those trucks. He also has the re-pin guide he sells for the swap.

I’m not sure if he can do the LT PCM swap, I looked and can’t find his info.

I got his info from @Bextreme04 maybe he will chime in, he pretty sharp at this stuff.

You could also probably run a Holley Terminator X max pcm with that swap fairly easily, just more expensive than junkyard pcm’s and homemade harnesses

The easy way is to just swap the whole shebang over engine/trans harness and LT1 PCM. The problem is going to be that there is very limited support for tuning and programming those PCM's. You can easily do an 0411 swap and Lextech is still active. He no longer sends out programmed PCM's, but he will still send you a pin swap guide for a small fee. Switching to the 0411 opens up a bunch of opportunities including cheap tuning and a better running engine. You can also swap to a P59 ECM to get drive by wire and even better tuning.

The harness is pretty simple to do, as you are removing wires not needed. Brenden shows what can be removed at his link,

He can also program the ecm. If you are not modifiying the engine, the black box ECM is fine.

it’s very simple to make standalone with what you have (I prefer swapping out the factory fuse block) I have 2 harnesses here I’m about to make standalone, one for a 2000 Blazer 4.3 (still black box ecm) and a 98 5.7 on

Edit: I’m not sure what can be done in Universal Patcher to delete egr and such, but looks like to make a bench harness for the 96-97 LT1 ecm, you need a spare black and blue connector.

On the black connector, use pin 30 for 12v ignition, and pin 31 for 12v battery

On the blue connector pin 1 is ground, pin 3 is 12v ignition and pin 7 is your serial data

0411 can run a lt1 you can also do coil near plug with it or install a rear distributor

Wow! Are we back in 1997 now?! This is an awesome change of pace!

The LT1 and LT4 swap was fairly common back in the 90's, but that was kinda pre-internet. Old magazines are chock full of old swap info. Although I guess that would probably all be OBD1 stuff.
