Looks stock, someone may have removed a leaf to lower it a little, but looking at the condition of the threads on the u-bolts and shackles it doesn’t look like it’s been messed with.

Would be nice to know if a leaf had been removed (would that lower 2 or 3 inches though?) And they have what looks like riveted brackets holding the leafs together which suggests stock? Perhaps they are just low from sag lol. Looking at plenty of vids on You Tube has me convinced the forward lean on the u-bolts is normal - perhaps because the front spring mount is way lower than the rear. Maybe that stance helps counter axle wrap?

Are you including that thicker one at the bottom? Is that really a leaf or some kind of control part? Its not connected to the others so I wasn't considering it one of the leaves

It's not possible for the U bolts to be sideways as the U bolts pass through the mount plate that has four holes in it for the U bolts where it sits over the leaf springs. Unless I'm missing something here, big time in what @Red85 is discribing. And I thought by '85 GM had put the mounting plate on the bottom so the U bolts would be facing down, i.e. the threaded end of the U bolt is facing down. So how in the world could the spring perch be facing in any direction other than up or down??

@Red85,

Holy smoke Red, it all looks okay to me. I can't imagine what you saw before. I believe there should be five plus the "helper" or "over load" leaf under the stack. I only see three and the helper leaf. That could account for it sitting lower by I don't know how much.

Pics of the front?

Yes. Rear is axle flip and 1" shackles the front is 2.5" spindles and 2" springs. More than likely the front will be coming up 1 - 1.5" to level it just a bit.
