I looked for a tread but only found this one:
https://ck5.com/forums/threads/swapping-k5-to-truck-tailgate-and-lift-glass.334230/
.
I joined that site but have to pay to see the pictures. So not gonna happen.
.
Has anyone done this or know of a thread with pictures. My tailgate has huge cracks in the top and needs welded. The window regulator is stripped. The hand crank is broken. The tailgate handle is also broken. It's missing the inside tailgate cover. So I think it will be easier and cheaper just to install a frame and window from a canopy, topper, camper shell or whatever nomenclature it goes by in your part of the world. I found a 78 ford canopy for 30 bucks. It looks similar. I plan on swapping to a truck tailgate if I do the lift window.
Thanks for any input.
Also this is not a 1 owner garage queen. I will sawzall, hammer, grind, pry bar the absolute **** out of any thing on the mad max wanna be truck to get a semi air tight window before snow starts.
