Repairing my '84 GMC Sierra Classic and I'm having a heck of a time finding a replacement grille. Any leads would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You and everyone else. Seems thats the one style no one is re-popping either.

This is a common request here that always comes down to leads for yards that have them (but not in great shape) or just the old "watch ebay".

Saw this, but have not checked it out.
Page 225 lists an '83 - '84 grille...........

Not familiar with Certifit parts, but they have a warehouse in Memphis.
A buddy bought a rear bumper there and it looks good to me.

Those grilles have the correct 6 panels, but lack the center emblem due to being unlicensed reproductions. There are licensed reproductions of the 85-87 3 panel grille, but unfortunately none for the 6 panel 83-84 grille. Maybe if we bug LMC and USA1 enough, we can get a run of licensed 83-84 grilles.

Yeah, nobody repops the correct '83/84 GMC grilles anymore and working in the industry, I can tell you that it's highly unlikely anyone will. Chevy stuff sells 40 to 1 vs GMC so it doesn't make any sense to develop them. Trust me, I've been trying here but I can't argue with the numbers. Your best bet is going to be to find a good original that can be restored.

Someone could probably use something like a FARO arm to scan the middle emblem of an original grille and make a CAD file of it. If someone did that, we could just 3D print emblems to graft on to the unlicensed grilles.

When I got the replacement grill for my '87 GMC from LMC the emblem was not included. The original GMC emblem is actually 3 individual letters. I simply drilled the new grill and attached the letters with new fasteners. It shows to a very, very close examination but is not obvious.

That's been my argument for stuff like this. Invest in the scanning software and hardware and a large enough 3D printer and we could print them just a few at a time. And we could use the same equipment to make all kinds of small batch stuff. But they haven't bit yet

I temporarily gave up on locating an ‘83-‘84 Grille and installed the
1985 style…. I’ll keep looking though

The 83-84 style bezels actually work quite nicely with the 85-87 grille.

If you have the budget, www.alumicraft.com, makes the 83-84 out of billet. Probably $2500 but very nice!

I may get an 81-82 style and use the GMC emblem I got off of a 70's C8000 grill to put in it
