Had to put a th350 in the c10 had to do it on gravel, here's what I came up with.I had trailer ramp 18" x a little over 6ft threw it under the truck longwise so I had 1 end of the ramp under each door lifted the ramp until it touched the transmission pan and put a jack under each side to hold it there.Slid the transmission back then lowered each side a few inches at a time. When the ramp was close to the ground I lifted it off the jack kicked the jack out and set the ramp on the ground.Slid the trans down the ramp and out under the drivers door.Slid the replacement transmission down the ramp to the center lifted the ramp and started going up a few inches at a time on each side then slid the transmission forward on the ramp until I could start some bell housing bolts.Iit was way easier than any of them I've done on floor jacks and couldn't have rolled a jack in gravel anyway. Easiest 1 man install I've ever done. I did have to use a 3rd scissor jack to keep the ramp from tipping. But it was so easy sliding the trans under the truck on the ramp and sliding forward on the ramp.Everyone doesn't have trailer ramps laying around but a a little scrap lumber would do the same thing.they were just cheap factory scissor jacks from cars I've scrapped.
