I'm willing to bet they are.

You can change the intake seals out with a set of GM 3998265 seals to fix the oil consumption problem without machining the valve guides. They are discontinued, but there are a few NOS sets on the 'bay for around 20 bucks.

I drive my 87 Chevy 350, tbi in the summer months only.
I use Kendal 20/50 . This oil comes with ZDDP( zinc )
already in it. It's their only oil that has zinc in it. Works
Great so far. I only drive it about 1,000 mi per year, so
I only change it every 2years.
