This is my "newest" play toy, a little smaller than the usual toy for me. It's a '68 Bolens "Husky 800". Original Wisconsin engine, 3 spd trans, high/low speeds, PTO, electric start. I've got the tiller, mower deck, and a wheel barrow attachment.

Pay no attention to the ugly dude sitting on it.

Yeah, it will get a 454/th400 and a 12 bolt rear, but I need to find a solid frame first. I'll assemble the rolling frame and then switch the body over, less downtime that way. I do have buckets and console for it.

The little Bolens did good today, I was able to finally till up a garden for the wife. Late in the season, but better late than never. I really need to get some rear tires that are more aggressive, the tiller kept trying to push the tractor right along faster than I wanted to go. I nearly got it stuck in the mud once too.

Are the short shaft 400's bolt on yoke drilled and tapped? USUALLY, if it's short, they are bolt in for trucks. The longer ones are slip though, like in the 4.3 trucks that came with Th400's.

Unfortunately, I need to keep my priorities straight. Right now, this car runs and drives fantastic, so I need to spend my money on other projects. I need to fix a lot of stuff, sell a lot of stuff, and junk a lot of stuff. Then I can do stuff just for the fun of it again.

Titanic is sinking fast guys lol

Well then, bring me a paddle. I'm not asking for anyone to row my boat, just asking for a paddle so I can get somewhere before I do sink. :roflbow:

Hoping getting this suspension fixed on the 84 C20 is gonna kick start progress in a big way. I have a feeling it will. Along with a seat change I also did today. Guess I need to update about that on my thread too.

I've been trying my best to keep the boat afloat, and I've been getting a lot of things done, but there's still a bigger 'to do' list. I've got 3 motor swaps on the list that I can think of right now, something tells me they won't all get done this year. Then I've got a few in various stages of full restoration, I haven't even touched them recently. Then there's all the little projects I've currently got going...

Most all of the TH400's I have had or seen are short shaft slip yoke (car tranys) 60's and 70's models
Actually the two I have are from 74 and 75 GM trucks that had big blocks in front of them.
The first TH400 or should I say 475 I built to sit behind a stout 454 in a 71 elcamino, still runs today was a short shaft. I think that 475 was from a bread truck. Had straight cut gears. Love to hear that trany whine. I think Impalas had the long shaft's 400's
