Thanks guys for the responses. So the tires really shouldn't be any wider than 10 inches then. So I should be able to do 32x10.50xr16 and it clear stock ride height on a 3/4 ton 2wd suburban right?

I believe it has the 3.43 in it. 14bolt full float 8 lug. 454 big block with 400 automatic transmission

There was never a 3.42 option in 14b Full Floater. 3.21, 3.73, 4.10 or 4.56 were factory options. 3.42 was offered in the 14b Semi Float.

I don't believe 31x10.50x16 tire exists. 235 85R16 is the tallest tire as far as I know of that was a factory option. Real close to a 31in tall tire but it's also skinny. Other option was a 215 85R16. A bit shorter and a bit wider.

I really am wrong sometimes. All depends on how much sleep I didn't get and if I had to many of my meds or not and how confused I get or how bad my memory is going to fail.

Maybe for 3/4 ton. I'm pretty sure the 1/2 tons had the 31in tires as a option as people have said before. Hell I ain't even sure anymore lol

yes, 31x10.50x15 was an option for 1/2 ton, but not for a K20 on a 16in wheel which is what OP was referring to.

So the largest tire available from factory for 3/4 ton 2wd was the 235-85-R16 correct?

Not necessarily so. For the 85 year model that and the 215 85R16 are the only ones I've seen on an RPO label. Previous to 16in wheels, 3/4 tons got 16.5 in wheels and I'd imagine there were bigger tire options in those years.

Hmmm. But the rim size shouldn't matter because a 33" tall tire is still an 33" tall tire regardless or rim size right? Or am I just missing the point. Lol
