Then there would have to be considerable modifications made to that enclosure to get it to fit and retain the use of the hood release. I don't remember, was the "in cab hood release" an option in 83 or standard equipment?

I guess the proper question is, Justin do you have a hood release on your driver's kick panel?

This 85 K1500 I recently bought, had those things. I think they were more home built though. That was the first thing I took out. You couldn't use the Parking brake because of the location. Kinda sucked.

Seems like it wouldn't be hard to make a bracket and mount the release to the bottom of the dash if the cable has enough movement for that.

The release was fine, you couldn't get the pedal down to engage the brake. It'd go down like 4 clicks then be hitting the speaker housing, so the E brake didn't function. Just saying, keep that in mind. Location will be important, or figure a way to shorten the pedal arm. Its plenty long enough to be shortened IMO.

Now, you're thinkin !!! You know the tunes will get used alot more than the E brake, but you still want it to function at least. I'm sure you'll get it worked out, just wanted to make sure you had a heads up so you're not suprised.

We do have safety inspections here in Tx, so the e-brake has to work or it fails.

Can't you just move the e-brake over slightly and you'd be fine. I've got a functioning e-brake plus the kick panel speakers so I don't think it'd be that hard to get working on Justin's 83 but maybe I'm missing something:shrug:
