I installed this kit on my 86 k10 this weekend. Pretty straight forward install. The screws that tie lock the two rods together strip very easily, so take your time, or just live with one screw holding it to YOUR trucks rod. If it doesn't hold I'l slap some JBweld or Plas-T-Pair on it. I had to trim about 1 inch off the actuating rod that comes with the kit.

Now the only thing I don't like is the size of the key fob. We'll see if I can get used to it. Notice this kit was for a 4 door vehicle, so you will have two spare actuators and hardware.

Congrats! Love my keyless entry. I didn't put in on, I think it's ICD? Can't remember off hand.

The $24 price including shipping is what sold me on it. Others I'd seen were $40, and thought...well I'll think about it. One cool thing is when you manually unlock/lock the drivers side, the other side auto-unlocks/locks.

if its fuel injected and has a auto transmission I put remote starts on them.

I use the viper remote start kits and they have keyless entry.

I have also went with remote start but used Avital 4103LX. I chose the system because of the remotes looking closer to OEM style

I used OE actuators in mine ,from the local pick a part

akchevrolet - since you have a newer truck I would try to use OE actuators because they are very sturdy. However, with factory units you may not get the feature that makes it lock the passenger door when you push down the lock on the drivers door. I think the driver's door had to use a five wire actuator and I assume that's what was used to trigger the passenger lock.

One reason the keyless entry kits are so cheap is that the actuators they use only go for a few dollars each. I've had a kit from LMC truck installed for about 15 years and the only failure part has been the cheap actuators. They are cheap to replace and its easy to find replacements, but I'd rather not have to open up the doors to replace them.
