It looks like it has a "hump" to it now that i've looked at it long enough..

That was my thought though, ima crawl back under the truck and look at the bolt hole -locs .
I GUESS that hole / window thingy is to access the case plug?
I'll check it out some more but if that's all it is, I don't care too much. "I thought it would be bigger" she said. :(

Seems unnecessary to me now. I figured a factory piece had been robbed long ago but I guess not.

Thanks anyway, I have no interest in that... The truck weighs enough.

All the crossmembers I've seen have the holes for a skid plate, but the skid plates are optional so it may or may not have one. There's 3 different crossmembers that I'm aware of. The W I think was only used for 2 years, maybe 3. Then there's the flat one that's older, then the wavy one with a wider footprint. I have a thread somewhere with all 3 pictured.
