Hello!

I’m new to the forum. I’m building my truck from the bottom up. I have a frame for it, 3/4-1ton, but it’s for a single cab, I’m looking for a 1 ton Crew Cab frame for a square body, in New York. Has anyone got a tip of one or selling one?

Thanks!

Welcome to the site. Your best bet might be to look at places in the SW. Frames are not prone to rust as quickly down there.

To start with, there were no 3/4 ton crew frames. They both rode on the one ton frame.

I’m well aware that all CC have the same 1 ton frame. Allow me to be specific, CSFJ, I’m looking for a CC with 14BFF, Dana 60. I’d prefer to have the axles out of a M1028 due to the lockers. I’m not looking for the duality rear, but have the ability to convert over from the Dana 70 rear end. I appreciate your insight and assistance.

What is your translation of CSFJ?

in fact Crew cabs did come in 4x4 and 3/4 ton I have seen them. I can't tell what frame they had on them as I don't know. also weren't all CC's duallies? I have never seen a single wheel CC, that wasn't converted. highdesertranger

Lots of srw crew cabs, those were available in both 3/4 and 1 ton flavors. Dually was only available on the 1 ton though.

There were in fact K20 crew cabs offered in '76 and I think '75 as well. They seem to have been fleet trucks, primarily sold in the Northwest. They are rare as hen's teeth these days. I spoke with an owner of one, he recalled that the frame was the usual K30 frame as we know it. They used a Dana 44 front axle.

Crew cabs were sold as single rear wheel as well, again being more common in the Northwest.

There was a model with no rear seat... contractor option or something like that.

"Bonus Cab" was no rear seat. "3+3" was with rear seat.
