I missed a 1/2 ton Chev 4x4 in great shape going for $1100 OBO yesterday.

It was my ideal year.. 1974..

Anyone have a 1974 1/2 ton 4x4 they'd be willing to sell?

Manual transmission would be even better, but not necisary.

Decent body, no huge gaping rust holes, but some rust is fine. Mechanical issues can be fixed, body is a bit harder for me.

It is my birth year. I deal dream truck would be 1/2 ton 1974 4x4 with a 4 speed.

Silly reason? I suppose, but if a guy's gonna dream, why not be specific?

Wow, those look good!

I'll have to see how to even get them home!

These two are the ideal, right there!

Now, to see if They are not already bought.

Thanks!

DO you use allofcraigslist, or what? I could've sworn I just ran a search!

hey, most of us have silly reasons! :) these came with 4-speed manuals? I'm only familiar with the 2 Muncies...Sm420 & sm465, right?

Most people refer to the sm465 as a 4-speed. Everyone I know does anyway.

Nope, the SM420's were in the 60's trucks and into 70 or 71 I do beleive. Pretty much the same trans but the SM465 is a bit beefier. Granny Low 4 speed for both heavy ass gear boxes.

Honestly, I'd even be willing to swap out the tranny, for a NV3500, or some other, so long as I got a non rusted out flintstones '74 truck from the deal.

LOL..

Looks like I am getting an '84 here soon that seems in a bit better shape than my nasty one.. Might tide me over til I can afford a '74 and actually be able to go drive to get it!
