ISO CUCV

Probably the wrong place, but no clue where to put it. My neighbor (ex-Army) is wanting a CUCV with a 6.2. Everything he's seeing is complete and the price is too high.

I'm guessing he's looking in the $2-4k price range. Too low?

Does he want a pickup or Blazer. Blazers seem to be cheaper, probably due to the fact that they don't have the good axles.

The Blazers are also geared better for the highway. The pickups pull well, but it seems like they might have 4.56 gears. There’s no tach or any noise insulation, so maybe its just the noise that makes it feel that way.

There is a web site where they advertise all the government vehicle auctions, and I think they still sell a few CUCV’s sometimes. However, the auctions are all over the country.

he didn't not in position financially yet. He's stuck on a CUCV of some sort tho.

The seem to be running in the 5-10K in the running condition and depending on overall condition.
