I bought an 85 Chevy k10 custom deluxe that I redoing. I already put a new gas tank on it. That is what brings up my question I bought a new gas filler neck and vent but when I put the bed back on (had it off to redo frame) the filler wouldn’t work so I had to use the old one.
That got me thinking all the pictures I see if 85 Chevy k10’s the gas tank is on the driver side. Can anyone tell me if they made 85’s with gas tank on passenger side like mine or was they all on drivers side? I have attached pics of mine that I’m questioning. Thanks

Thanks for all the good info. So, would an 85 be on the drivers side? Reason I ask is I am going to be removing cab, engine, bed and all this winter and running new fuel lines so I would like to run lines and put gas tank on the right side for correct bed when I get it

mine is supposed to be single tank so I’m guessing I need to find me a new bed and move my tank to drivers side when I restore it so I can make it close to original as I can

So is all 85’s on drivers side?
Unless they were a dual tank setup.

I understand your desire to restore to perfection but the sad reality is that there are very few of these trucks that are not modified in some way.

My '87 has dual tanks, this is what the fuel fill should look like on your '85.

I should have got the dual tanks when I ordered my '87.

One 16 gallon tank (probably 12 gal useable) is not much fuel.
