OK So here's the update. After reading all of your insights I kind of backed off on the 79 GMC. I would probably still buy it for a better price but decided to keep looking. The 78 Chevy that popped up last week, I almost bought on Sunday but the guy dorked around and ended up wanting to make a trade for a toyota. Well, as fate would have it, the deal fell through and it came back up for sale and he contacted me. I'm going this Sunday to pick it up (barring anything really bad or weird that I can't see in the pics). I've wanted a 78 from the beginning so this was my sign to just do it. Here's some pics.
