I want to put 3.73 gears on my 4x4 1983 Chevy. I was wondering if it is possible to take a front and rear end from say, a 90's 4x4 Chevy, and swap/bolt it on with a bit of fabrication? Is there any how to's on this site? Thanks for any help.

Leaf spring perches for the rear would need cut off, spaced right and re-welded on. Hopefully the track is as wide as it would need to be. Front from a "90s 4x4 truck" is IFS you know that don't you? I have no idea what kind of crazy fabbing you'd have to do to make that work, if it would work at all.

73-87 1/2 and 3/4 ton 4x4 trucks wil be a direct bolt in front and rear, 73-91 Suburban and Blazer will also bolt right in. the 77-91 1 ton Dana 60 front wil also bolt in. anything 3/4 ton and heavier will require spring plates that match the axle.
