Is it harmful to drive in "2" for long periods of time?

Is it ok or harmful to the transmission to drive in "2" for long periods of time?

i'll get into why, if we make it that far.........
Fluid temps will be astronomical, your beating the engine for no reason. Why some one would do that is beyond rational thinking

I don't see why it would be an issue...2nd gear should have you well over torque converter stall at speed, so you're not really worried about heat build up in the converter/trans. The engine might not like it, if you are keeping it at high RPM.

Don't see anything in the manual that says NO ...

No idea why that is upside down .:anitoof:
