Starting on interior. Today I pulled the bench seat the floor matting and padding. Found a few ventilation holes in the floor pan. Looks like I am going to be learning how to weld

Cut out some of the rot today on the driver side. I have floor pans here, the rockers are on order from LMC.

The rocker isn't as bad as I thought it'd be, just a small spot on the outside I cut out. The interior of the rocker doesn't ok great but I'll get a better look once the floor pan is out. Will be doing body mounts too, before the new floor pans go in.

I dont have a compressor and air chisel so I'll have to drill out all the spot welds. After that I just need to learn how to weld

It doesn't look like the new pans will reach up that curve of the seat hump so I'll have to figure out what to do there

Also, those little spot welds across the bottom of the door threshold are weird looking. It doesn't look factory to me but I've never gone this far into one of these things so I'm not sure

Practice welding a lot before you try welding on your truck. Go buy some 19 ga metal and get good at welding it. Vertical, upside down and on the flat. It take a ton of practice. If you are welding outside consider using flux core. Yes, you will have to chip slag but a little breeze won't mess with your welding and it is more forgiving on rusty metal.

One last tip, buy good quality welding wire even if you have a cheap welder. It make a huge difference in your welding ability. Horror Freight's wire is awful. Lincoln, Hobart and Blue Demon have all been good. YMMV

Good info, thank you. Luckily, so far anyway, all the welding I have to do except one small spot on the outside of the rocker will be hidden under carpet
