lol we get some mighty cold weather here, like in the negatives and still use em.

but I know what you mean.

Now as for those fast fi systems, man those look and sound nice, the ones mr clean suggested I'd like to have one myself. I think holley and edelbrock have self learning efi systems too.

I had a 2.8 multiport injection Camaro once and loved the multiport setup.

It was 11 degrees last night when I got out of work. My 87 has a 305 from 84 and a SMI rebuilt Quadrajet on her. 3 pumps of gas and she fires right up. I put her in drive and go. She has power and runs smooth but I baby her for at least a couple minutes. When the temp guage starts to move she develops a minute bog off idle that goes away in a minute when she reaches temp. About as close to fuel injection as I've ever felt.

I have to imagine FI is going to be more economical as long as all the sensors are working. I like carbs because they give me something to play with. I love my truck but with a 305, th350 instead of the original 700r and unknown gearing I'm getting 12 mpg combined. Not too bad but I could use a couple extra mpg's. I may switch back or put a diesel in her but that is another story.

i think you answerd your own question. unless you have a lil japanese guy sitting on your valve cover constantly adjusting your, jet size, air/fuel mixture ratio, timing and advance while you drive, then efi is the way to go. if you,re broke like the rest of us, buy a good carb with a working choke. keep in mind that i am in northern ontario canada. the temp outside right now is -21 celcius. (-5-6) farienhiet for you guys we can go as low as -30f
