Sense I have no truck to build up, I was just thinking what would I do to a 350?

Questions are:
  1. With the picture of Cam specs below, woauld a 1.6 ratio rocker up the RPM range (would make it .477 Lift).
  2. Would I benefit from some vortec heads with this cam?
  3. Would this cam be too small for a 388 stroker-4.030 bore -3.75 stroke-5.7 Rod

1. I don't believe rocker ratio would change rpm range in a noticeable way. Just use a good valve train because you're adding more force to everything involved.

2. I think vortec heads would work well with that cam. Iirc vortec heads flow best at mild lift numbers, pushing past .500 lift and the flow falls off less you do some porting. To my knowledge vortec heads are the best performing factory heads you can get for a sbc.

3. Depends on what you want it to do. I think for a truck expected to do truck things or running larger tires it would be excellent. Great street manners and early torque. But if you want horsepower go bigger, but the drivetrain will have to match to make it enjoyable. Oh and compression is important to consider when chosing a cam.

Now I'm a big block guy myself so I'm not the best reference. Hopefully a small block guy will chip in.

I like torque more than HP, easier to achieve where I drive.
I haven't made it to pistons yet.
I'm sure if I paired it with a Edelbrock 1406, and performer intake it would be GOLD!
