The truck shifted fine until OD and went in short and fast red flag immediately. At the next stop sign pulling away shifts into second and poof no more third gear no clunking noise of any kind manually shifts but no more 3rd or 4th.
So I limped home and checked fluid and like a punch to the gut is was bone dry.
Im on my way to napa for fluid now

Might want to take a look for leaks. That extension housing seal that goes around the slip yoke will randomly start and stop leaking on mine. I’ve also had them leak at the TV cable grommet and dipstick grommet. They can leak at shifter seal, too. I hope the transmission will prevail after this. You’ve got a NAPA open after nine o’clock EST? Impressive. I live a few minutes from the warehouse/parts counter, and I think they call it at eight.

Truck shouldn’t even move out of park if it’s that low on tranny fluid I thought. That’s some severe leak you got there. Hopefully you didn’t cause any damage to the transmission.
