Is there a number or style of Saginaw box that came on squares so I can get the correct rebuild kit? Are all Saginaws the same? And where to get a rebuild kit?

Now that the transfer case is done, this is the next step in my "to insanity and beyond" tour.

I think you need to know what box you have. I know there is the fast ratio boxes and the normal ratio, then manual boxes. Light duty then to heavy duty boxes. 2wd vs 4wd, I think?

Ok....here is the best source I can find to determine what box you have. Since sites come and go, I captured all the pics (for GM boxes) and am placing them here as a future go-by. With their info, I believe mine to be an 808.

These are the gents responsible for the awesome pics and info.

Good info! So basically, the different steering ratios and internal stops don't change the model # then?

Doesn't seem to. I'm also finding little difference between the 800 and 808 rebuild kits. Now to work up the nerve to tear into this. lol
