how to delete auto door locks

I have an 1987 suburban, it has a feature that when the ignition key is turned on the power door locks lock and when the key gets turned off they unlock ! I would like to delete the feature. Anyone know this is done??

that is a feature of your remote entry system. you will need to follow the manufacturer directions.

This is a factory feature on a 1987 ! there should be just a wire to disconnect , just dont know which one ! Anybody ??

as far as I know, that is not an OEM feature. it is likely part of an aftermarket keyless entry system

On the right side of the steering column just above the gas and brake pedal is the relay for the door locks. Trace those wires and see if anything is tapped into them.

Yep, there's an old alarm system or keyless entry system that is locking the doors automatically. Find the box and remove the power lock output. Or you can remove the whole thing, but then you will likely have to patch wires back together for the starter circuit.

ok, put my glasses on, got on my back and looked way up under my dash and found some kind of aftermarket door lock thingy!! removed an inline fuse and solved the issue !! thanks

Sounds like one of those old viper alarms from back in the day...
