How to add more lift?

I recently purchased a 79 scottsdale with what appears to be a 6" suspension lift and a 3" body lift. The front is considerably lower than the rear and I need a reasonably cheap way to lift it a little. I was looking at some 1.5" front lift shackles but I don't know what all I would have to modify if I added them. Any help is appreciated

Don't lift the front with 2" shackles, it will throw you pinion angle off, as well as your caster, which it's not adjustable without angle shims between the axle and the spring. Call Kert at www.DIY4X.com and get a4.5"center to center shale for the front, and a pair of Ez Inch add a leaves. Also make sure to replace all 4 u bolts when installing the Ez Inches.

You can do the extended shackles, but you may also need to install shims to get the pinion angle back where it's supposed to be. You will also want to make sure your shocks and brake lines are long enough.

You can also instal a "zero rate" to lift the front one inch. It's basically a small lift block that bolts into the spring pack.

I had zero rates on my old 2006 GMC so I know about them. I'm just not familiar with these older trucks suspension. So if I added these I wouldn't have to modify anything?

I might be going a little overboard here. But would it be possible to do the lift shackles and zero rates if I get some shims to correct the pinion angle? I'm running 39x18 mt baja belted's and they rub a little with only 9" of lift

I'm not crazy about shims, I've seen them break and come out, but currently I need to put 4 degrees of shim in mine to correct my caster. Just depends on if you're going to use the truck as a trail beater or a street queen, really.

It will just be a street queen. I may take it out in a muddy field occasionally but that's about it. It's really too big to do any trail riding

Yep Andy, not sure how long but havent seen them for sale for at least 5 years.

Honestly I had never heard of them till I saw them on this truck. I knew Mickey Thompson stopped production on all they're big and wide tires years ago but I only knew of claws and mtz's. It's also kinda funny that somebody put sand tires on a truck in Tennessee haha

Without changing anything else do you think I could add 1.5" lift shackles and 4 degree shims? I'd like to do zero rates too but then I'd have to get longer U bolts
