Just to update: I made life easier on myself and rented a van, which due to circs, I ended up getting for gratis, plus the seller threw in a lot of the other necessary stuff, so I got flex plate, torque converter, new starter, I wonder if I have the hydro pump thing for the steering? So come the summer I can maybe get the old beast back on the road. I'm not saying which summer, my kids got a few years before he needs a car

Made it worth the 8 hours in the sometimes crappy weather.
