Thought this would be a fun topic. How many of you have taken your daily to the track? If so, post up some time slips and a quick description of your daily driver.

Here's mine. 2007 Ram 2500 4x4 5.9L Cummins, 6-Speed manual, 3.73's, South Bend clutch, exhaust, and a mild tune. Goes across the CAT Scale at right over 7400 lbs with me and all of my junk in it.

Best run so far 15.25@89. Just don't laugh at the RT with this old man sleeping at the light.

My daily runs 11s and 0-60 in the 3s, but no one here is interested in it, lol

edit: my Cummins is stock, but has 1075 lb-ft of torque. It scoots, however I’m not sure if I’ve actually ever floored it.

The slowest and absolutely worst riding vehicle I have ever driven had to be a 1994 Mazda b2300, and that's coming from a farm kid guys. Tractors with no suspension, old turd grain trucks, hell that Mazda rides worse than a riding lawn mower.

Not only that but the seat has been worn into a nice bowl shape where the driver sits, big old guys will do that to a little truck I suppose lol. Makes it very uncomfortable for us smaller guys after lol. But regardless of the seat, it rode like crap, and is the slowest damn thing I've driven lol.

I had a 97 mazda and always a hardship to keep it above 40 to 45 mph.I think my 62 vw beetle was faster.lol

For sure, I mean holy crap, when you almost have to downshift to third gear for a hill on the highway in "flat" ND... it's pretty bad.

I've found that fifth gear and flat footing it about 10 seconds before a hill, it'll chug all the way up most hills without downshifting, seems most efficient lolol.

I've driven those old beetles as well, I was more impressed by those lol. At least ride quality in a bug isn't as bad as that Mazda:rotflmao:

There was a 2021 3500 Crew Cab short bed behind me all evening Friday. I never got to run against them, but I did see that they ran consistent 16.30's-16.40's all evening. I didn't get to talk to the owner. Don't know if it was a Aisin or 68rfe.

It seemed like 4th gear was too high to go up a sloping road and 3rd was too low.lol So to be able to climb it without slowing down before I would top the crest I would slow down and grab 3rd gear and wind it up and still have traffic ripping around me! Heck, grandma would drive too slow in front of me and I would pass her and then on the next slightest hill the bluehair would pass me! Mine had the 2.3 liter, a so called engine in it anyway

In our smaller town the Mazda isn't horrible but not good at all, but highway is hard and interstate was nearly impossible, at least keeping up with traffic lol.

Why do they even have 8 spark plugs for 4 cylinders if it ain't gonna do nothin?!? lolol

When the NHRA drag strip was finished being built here locally, they put the word out to guys they knew, me to, and invited them to a "track break-in party". Drag strips don't come with all that black on them, that's rubber from the thousands of vehicles burning rubber taking off. When the track is finished it's just bare concrete, even though it is a particular type of finish on the surface, and I don't have the specs on it. Maybe @Matt69olds might have a better idea, or one of those guys who had threads last week talking about the racing they've done. So we drove up and down on that new surface from sun down to about midnight, like six hours. It was so much fun, and I had just finished building my truck to so that was something I wanted to see for myself. Unfortunately there was no time slips, just rubber on the starting line out to 60ft. as far as we could really.

It was so funny because there were hopped up little Honda's running against brand new Surburban's, and big a** Dodge diesel trucks running against a big a** Chevy diesel trucks! We all wished they had been timed, that would have been interesting to see what they were running. It was everything and anything that night. Something you would never have ever seen again because it was just whoever was in line that's who you ran against. It was a blast! I've never laughed so hard at the drags. There was a guy out there who had a stripped down '70's Surburban, gutted with a roll cage around the driver and the one drivers seat, that's all, with a very powerful big block in it and man, that thing was fast! It was a wonderful night of laughs at the drags. That is the American way of life!

My local track is the oldest in Indiana, it opened in 1956. Long before my time!!! There are barrels full of rubber they have scrapped off the track over the years, I have always wondered what they do with the debris?

I have run my Ram several times, other than a programmer, minor exhaust work, and valve body work to the transmission, it’s stock. Runs consistent 14.80s, not bad for a 7400 pound truck!!

My beater Neon has never been on a track, it’s slower than Congress. No need to use the fancy timing equipment, a calendar or sundial would be just as accurate.

Slower than Congress? Lol. I had a cop turn around and come after me once,I was driving a 68 amc Javelin with a vacuum leak at the carb six cylinder engine.I floored it and took off.It was so slow thankfully the cop didnt realize I was trying to get away.He stopped us and asked for registration and let me go.lol
When your so slow that a cop cant tell you are attempting to outrun him then I guess that can be a good thing.
