How does hood to cowl seal attach?

Mine is missing, so I can't tell how it connects. I'm guessing it attaches through the holes all along the edge in the pic of my truck?

The part from LMC shows that there are these things that poke down, so I wasn't sure if that's how it connects. They don't seem to sell any other hardware that would connect it. I checked Brothers for reference, and they sell these square brackets with screws.

Any light you can shine on it would be helpful. I've ordered the LMC seal, but it hasn't arrived yet.

There's little push in clips attached to the seal that you just push into the holes in front of the cowl screen.

The new one I put on had the same clips as the original I removed.

I'd pop one out to show if I felt I could do it without breaking it. Looks like this on an 84 where it is on the underside of a hood.

I ordered the one from LMC a few weeks ago and it came with the clips in it. I also have an 80, it just clipped right into the holes, perfect fit. Took maybe 5 minutes to install, 3 of which involved acquiring and opening my beer.

Sweet. Sometimes those kind of jobs are nice to have. They off set the more tedious and frustrating jobs

When I ordered a new seal I did not read that it came with new fasteners so I ordered those, they may have been a couple of dollars. I left the seal in the hot Texas sun for an hour or so and it made install even easier, about 1 minute compared to 2...

Replaced the one on my 82's hood last year. Many of the clips were so hard to push in that I had to remove the hood. However, it was super easy to do with the hood on its back.

I got mine installed. I figured out a little trick. I used the side of a flathead screwdriver to press on each plastic button to get them to push in.

My cowl seal is all smashed and just randomly laying in there I think. Maybe I will replace it. Keep that engine heat out of the cowl and spilling as bad back into the cab I guess
