In the morning I will be going to remove the wire harness from a 87 Suburban and I do not know how to disconnect the wire harness from the firewall side of the fuse panel,if it is like the 90 version it seemed that it was glued together and I finally had to just clip the wires at the fire wall then go inside and clip the wiring in there too.Maby these 87s are just held together with a couple of screws,I dont know.
This 87 I would like to keep the harnesses intact as much as possible.
I do not like cutting wires,it seems very taboo to Me,I would like to have the complete uncut harnesses so when I get ready to convert an older pickup/truck to TBI I would like to just be able to remove the old harness and install the new along with the electro speedo.
I`ll be going to get this done at about 8 AM and I have until noon to get this all out from the dash and engine bay.
I do have the computer box out and the harness from it fed out through the firewall.
Now it is just a matter of disconnecting the harness from the box so I can keep it all nice and neat.
Thank You in advance for any responses.

There's a 7mm (or 1/4", can't remember may even be an 8MM) bolt in the center of the junction block behind the fusepanel on the firewall side that has to be unbolted. Sometimes they are glued together so you have to work it to get it apart. There's 2 7mm screws holding the junction block to the firewall accessible from under the dash. The fuseblock itself is held to the junction block by 2 or 4 clips (again, can't remember) on the corners.

Thank You very much,I`ll be sure to pack a good flashlight so a blind o`l fugger like me can see to geterdone.LOL
On the 90 Chevys I worked and pried until I just knew there was no hope of getting those apart so I had to cut them,I`m hoping on these older units they did`nt use any glue,or,at least not so tough of a glue.LOL
If it is necessary to cut the harnesses I will be sure to get the dash plug and the ALDL connector.
I will get some pics of this suburban and post them in the junk yard photos, just wish I had more time to pull parts.
