How did you lift your truck at home ?

I got a 86 crew cab cummins swapped Dually . Looking for some ideas on how I can lift my truck at home or how y'all did it . I'm putting 8" on 37 12.50 milspec tires . So any ideas would be help full I was thinking blocks and a jack some show and some stands thanks

Minimum 3T jack stands under the frame each resting on 8X8X16 blocks. I filled the blocks with Quickcrete then used liquid nail to put plywood on top. I have my stands set at about the half way mark.

With the vehicle at a slight angle and the rear end in the air, the E brake is unavailable. I found a set of wheel chalks at Wal-Mart for $5 ea. I stuffed those under the front wheels.

The blocks are stout. Figure on 1 bag of Quickcrete per 2 blocks.

Jack the vehicle up high enough for the blocks-stands to get under the frame.

The drop the vehicle until the springs are at full droop. I secure the axle on some smaller stands and removed the springs. These stands are set at the min level.

Im putting 4" shackle flip on mine with 56" 1T springs and ORD zero-rates. There should be enough room to do 8" springs or any combo thereof.....

Pretty much the same thing for the front.

Only reason my tank is dropped is for the shackle flip....need access inside the frame rail. If your not doing a flip then you wont need to drop the tank.

i cheat i just use my wrecker to lift trucks to work on them.
it works great for putting lift kits in trucks

3 ton floor jack and 12 ton jack stands (go up to 30"). I've used this combo for years on trucks with up to 12" lift.

My big jack stands are hein warner or something but I've seen identical stands at harbor freight.

use 56" springs and a lil body lift or use 63" springs

I used to do stuff like that on the lift at work, but now I don't want to drive 30 miles each way to do that anymore. I'd much rather just lay on my back at home and get things done while still being close to the family.

The lift was nice though, especially when I lifted the Suburban. Removing the fuel tank is much easier with a tall transmission jack, torching/grinding frame rivets is much easier when you can stand up and do it, and getting the heavy axles in place is very easy when you can do it with a cherry picker.

If you use cement blocks be sure to stack the blocks 2 x 2 and put a couple 2x8x16" pieces of wood on top, they will be much more stable. Without the wood, the steel of the frame, bumper or whatever else you're bracing up will easily crush/break the cement blocks.
