Any info on the suburbans? Especially the blue and white one..

Garry Sowerby and the 1984 GMC he drove across Africa at the Canadian International Autoshow in Toronto, Ontario for the blue and white one.

I have nothing on the camo Sub.

Man, what I wouldn't give to be in the 80's right now! Back when trucks were trucks and not luxury cars with a bed. Plus, they were cheaper then, too. Screw this 30k+ to buy a truck. I wish Chevy would bring the Elco back. But, that would too expensive, too. Even with a turbo'd 4 banger.

Shoot, you can't hardly buy a truck in the 30K range now. Seems like the meat of them are in the 40-50K range. It's ridiculous.

I know this would cost a small fortune, but I think it would be neat if the car manufacturers would allow folks to buy new non-production vehicles.

They brought back the power wagon but not the concept, just a sticker kit

NOT that I'm AT ALL a Dodge/RAM/Mopar guy, but I happened to recently learn that the 2500 Power Wagon's are a bit more than a sticker kit. Particular truck I came in contact with was a late model Laramie, msrp over $60k - yikes! Guess it's ok if you got deep pockets and you're into this sorta thing...

I have been slowly looking for a 2005-2007 Power Wagon. I think it is the best off road and work capable truck made in the last 10 years. I'm thinking it would even be worth selling my tow vehicle (2003 Silverado HD) and maybe my square to get one.

It can tow.
It can be found with a manual trans.
It has front and rear lockers.
It has a factory winch.
It has factory sway bar disconnects.

It is a mix of both of my trucks basically.

Relaunching an El Camino wouldn't be as expensive as you think. GM's been building them for years in austrailia. Google Australian "ute". They run pretty much the same chassis that the g8 ran, with the same 6 or 6.2 litre v8. They just never bothered to sell them here.

Yep, they are Aussie Holdens with GM Powerplants. Kinda why the new GTO flopped, and Pontiac G8 didn't do all that wonderful either. It was talked about that the Chevy Chevelle SS was coming back. All the while, it was nothing more than the Pontiac G8 coming back as Chevelle SS after Pontiac closed up. It didn't come back as a Chevelle SS. So it came back as simply SS. So the Chevy SS today is what would have been the Pontiac G8 if Pontiac as still alive. Just an Aussie made Holden that's been rebadged, as will be the ElCamino if it makes it's way back. That has been talked about for close to a decade.

Yeah, I've known about the Utes. I even read an article sometime ago about Chevy considering moving it the the States. However, I doubt it'll happen. It'll have to have 4 doors to survive here. And yes, it'll be pricey. Think about it, it's a mini-pickup. It'll probably list for $18 to 20K for the base model. Shoot, you can barely get a Fiesta for less than $15K.

It's just another pipe dream...

I agree with you there. I have a feeling the Ute to be the El Co coming back won't happen. It's my opinion, that the SSR was a test for the El Co coming back. Just to see who was willing to spend big money on an El Co type vehicle. Unfair though if you ask me. SSR just seemed to be a butchered up Monte Carlo.

Never know, it might come back. You know Ford is bringing back the Bronco next year. I have a feeling it's going to sell well. That might even prompt GM to bring back the C/K Blazer/Jimmy. I kind of hope it does.

Anyone aware of GM and Ford coming out with 10 speed auto transmissions in their trucks now? Some of you may not have known, but Ford jumped in bed with GM on transmissions a few years ago. The 6 speed FWD autos. Same transmissions, differences being the bell housings of course, and the software/tuning for the ECM to communicate with the rest of the powertrain.

Unfortunately, GM is stopping all manufacturing in Australia and all Holdens will be just other cars GM puts a Holden badge on. They are going to get a rebadged Buick Regal, which is an Opel Insignia and they have had the Cruze and Colorado branded as Holdens.

Thankfully, GM does have some really good RWD platforms in the US, other than the Camaro, the rest of them seem to be Cadillac only. The current CTS and the CT6 are amazing cars that cost a fuckload of money but drive very nice.

There's some speculation on whether the Bronco will actually just be a name on a crossover or a traditional wagon body on a truck frame.

In an era of suv's being targeted at the soccer mom crowd, I'm not holding my breath expecting the bronco will be body on frame. As much as it sucks, I'm expecting a unit body at the least, a crossover most likely.

Yeah, chances are it will be more looks than anything. Jeep Wrangler needs some competition.
