This thread made me feel bad that my hood ornament said nothing and was just black. So I slapped a yellow bow tie on it. Much better. Lol

My '88 K5 has one that will be coming off when it goes in for it's new paint! Never understood the reason for thm or the attraction to them. I definitely think the hoods look better without but opinions will, of course, vary. Each to his own.

Nothing to add as to the years they were installed though. Pretty sure my '83 K5 Sliverado had one also.

Not my cup of tea anyway. I'm not driving a RR

Of course there is. Perfectly normal behavior. I am somewhat offended by the abuse of meat.

My 78 big ten is a silverado with two tone and a hood ornament. Always wanted to put the cadillac style godess on it instead.

I have always loved that cadillac hood ornament. I remember as a kid my dad having an original mounted on a piece of wood and it sat on our fire place mantel. He is gone now, but my mom still has it. Not sure which one of us 4 sons will get. Myself being the youngest, i bet it will not be me.

My first square was a 77 Cheyenne 2-tone paint and hood stripes. It had the hood ornament. Since that hood is now on my 77 K5, so is the hood ornament.

Speaking of RR:

I was driving through town and I came up behind a guy was parking this car. I thought it was a Chrysler 300 and I noticed it had flat paint (no gloss). I thought "huh. Must be a wrap".

When I came back through town it in the other direction it was still sitting there. I thought "wow. That guy has some kind of weird grille and emblem on that Chrysler".

When I got closer I realized it was a "RR". On the body side and hubcaps, too.

If I was going to spend that kind of money I would at least like a nice (*glossy*) paint job and something that doesn't look like a run of the mill Mopar.
