Here's what I did. The square of angle iron makes the floor panel rock solid and it's flush with the existing bed. Hardest part is locating the hole. I wish I would have made the front cut an inch or so further towards the front - makes it a little challenging to get to the fuel line connections, but wasn't too bad. I tape up the seam with metal foil tape and then put the carpet back, would never know.
