do they have a cast iron one thats already notched that you know of? Cutting that cast it on will be a PITA, and i really want a clean look.

Probably not since they were using the NP241 when the round six bolt pattern transmissions were being produced. The 241 has a totally different shifter setup that wouldn't need the notch.

cast iron actually cuts pretty easy. A grinder wheel and careful hand will trim it out easily.

I didn’t see anything about the np241!

the 88,89 one has a mechanical speedo.
The 90,91 has a vss for a future LS swap!
They even sell SYE

I’m going to put one in my OBS
Have all the parts need to finish the other projects to get this one back under the knife

This isn't a bad option. 241's were behind some heavy-duty stuff too. You can swap out the 27 spine input for a 32 spine input from a later drivers side drop as well. Should be able to run a six gear planetary too I believe. Its still an aluminum case though. But its a bit quieter if that's your thing.
