Help 30 spline conversion on 28 spline rear axle

Or as rare as it may be, maybe find an 88up complete axle. Now that I think of it, is it 87 or 88 that's the transition year? Because whichever year it was there was still some 28 splines that were leftover and used up so just because it's one in the first year, best to check it before you buy it.

You will need 2 LM102949 (race)and 2 LM102911 (bearing) if in fact it is a 8.625 carrier.

Hmm, kinda weird, my 84 (California "F") came with 30 spline, when getting it fixed a while back, he mentioned "too bad it is not a 28" he had a deal on 28 whole package sitting on the shelf.

If you're talking about a 10 bolt, that had to have been swapped in cuz 30 spline wasn't even thought about for 84 models as of yet and may not even have exsited. You can run the axle tube #'s and it'll tell you what year and what truck it came out of .

I can confirm 89-91 squares for 30 spline. I just went thru this .Of course there may be other years .Mine is an 89 blazer. 10 bolt ,8.5. I have an auburn locker that a want to keep , same as you .

Perfect thanks guys I got it worked out had to drive all the way to Arlington TX to go pick em up but I got em in I’ll post part number later on tonight or tomorrow just have to find the papers but they look bad ass

That's quite a drive from Houston to Arlington. Hopefully you'll now be able to get the LSD unit and axles installed. Then you get to go test the posi and get every which way but straight. I loved getting sideways checking the posi and back steering to get straight down the street.
