Hey I made a account here a while ago but couldn’t find a thread on my question but I decided to browse on here again and decided to post my rig! It’s a 87 GMC Sierra I bought a week after I turned 16, expected to have it done, well a long time ago but, long story, I’m 18 now and I’ve never had it on the road myself but I’ve done a lot of work to it and have put a lot of my money into it andit’s been a great truck to work on and I’ve learned a lot.
It’s got a 350 and behind that’s a 700R4. When I bought it the scumbag who sold it to me thought it had a 305, stickers said 305 and truck originally came with a 305 and only until I did some digging and had to replace the water pump I found out it had a 350 so that a great surprise. It’s got TBI, I believe when they swapped the 350 in they put the 305 headers and I take back onto it.
For what I’ve done to it, I ripped apart front and rear suspension and through everything out that was destroyed by years of neglect and Canadian winter and painted control arms and swap bar, put a drop spindle in, replaced all bushings, break callipers, break lines and shocks. For the rear I took the leaf springs out, painted them, replaced leaf spring bushings, replaced rotted shackled for some drop shackles, painted the rear diff and while we had the bed off I POR-15’d the rear of the frame from cab back.
What’s left to do, the rear of the cab is rotten and needs some new metal, some electrical work for the lights and probably going to need a new bed for inspection.
Thanks for letting me share, have a good night
