Hey all! Figured I’d give myself a proper introduction. My name is Hunter and I have recently been given this super straight and rust free 82 k10 short box 4x4 SM465. The truck has 51k original miles and is 1 owner. She’s currently sitting in a field in western Washington as she has for the last 6 years. As you can expect the 305 is weather seized. Last week I filled the holes with Marvel Mystery Oil and this weekend I will be going back to try and bust it free and get it running enough to drive it on a trailer. My plans for the truck are to scrap the boat anchor that currently resides under the hood and replace it with a rebuilt 6.2 and then over time work on restoring the rest of the truck. It has 1 small dent in the tailgate and the passenger door is rotted out from mice living in it but other than that there is no major rust on the truck. The frame still even has factory undercoating! Thanks for looking guys!
Hunter

Thanks everyone! I’ve just been made aware of 2 things. My truck is actually a factory 350, not a 305, and that these rims are hard to find? I am a VW guy and this is my first venture into Chevy stuff so I never would’ve known that these wheels are scarce. I guess they are 15x8s? What are they called? What are they worth? I was gonna use them to make stands for a bench grinder and vise but now I might leave them on the truck lol.

Welcome. I will gladly take any more squares you find in fields lol. Cool project, I think you should keep that 305, I love the 305. Mine has a utility bed and it has hauled 300 gallons of water, plus the weight of the utility bed and managed 13mpg and i couldnt even notice the extra 2400lbs I had in the bed. Regardless, awesome truck, good find, and thanks for help keeping these beauties on the road!

Nice looking truck- has a lot of potential.

Tracking this thread as I can have a free truck from my father in law that has been sitting a long time. Curious how your marvel mystery oil in the cylinders will work.

Keep those wheels or sell them- just don't turn them into stands!

I did a lot of trips to and from Seattle this summer and often stayed in Ellensburg. Didn't care for the wind there on some of the trips.

Gotta love that Kittitas valley wind! Helps keep the snow blown off the roads and driveway!
